Cavaliers' Darius Garland 'was super scared' after suffering eye injury
Darius Garland suffered a laceration on the inside of his left eyelid after getting poked in the eye by Gary Trent Jr. in Cleveland Cavaliers’ 108-105 loss against the Toronto Raptors last month. He revealed his first thoughts after the incident following Cleveland's 114-113 overtime win over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.
Garland suffered an eye injury in the second quarter against the Raptors. He returned to the court in his season debut against Celtics and finished with 29 points, 5 rebounds, 12 assists, and 3 steals in 43 minutes. Trent sent him an apologetic text message. The Cavaliers are on a six-game win streak. They will travel to Detroit to take on the Pistons on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.
