Cavaliers vs. Bulls prediction and odds for NBA Summer League (Hammer the OVER)

The Cleveland Cavaliers are a perfect 3-0 this summer, and they’ve done it with one of the best offenses in Las Vegas.

The Cavs have scored 101, 99 and 100 points in their first three games of the Summer League, blowing out the Toronto Raptors and Memphis Grizzlies in their last two games.

Sam Merrill, Emoji Bates, Isaiah Mobley and Sharife Cooper have all had their moments for the Cavs, and the team is hoping to keep this offensive show going against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday afternoon.

The Bulls are 2-1 this summer, but they did lose to the Grizzlies by seven – the same team Cleveland beat by 23 in its last game.

That’s led to Cleveland sitting as a five-point favorite in this game in the latest odds.

Let’s break down this matchup and make a best bet:

Cavaliers vs. Bulls odds, spread and total

Spread

  • Cavaliers -5 (-110)
  • Bulls +5 (-110)

Moneyline

  • Cavaliers: -205
  • Bulls: +175

Total

  • 178.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Cavaliers vs. Bulls prediction and pick

While I lean with the Cavs in this game due to the lack of high draft picks on the Bulls’ Summer League roster (Chicago didn’t have a pick this offseason), I think the best bet to make is on the OVER.

Cleveland has been an offensive machine, averaging 100 points per game in three Summer League showings.

While the Bulls haven’t been as effective, they have scored at least 80 points in all three of their Summer League games, including 107 in their last game against the Sacramento Kings.

The lowest scoring games from both of these teams this summer would still go over this total, so I think we’re getting some value on this line.

The Cavs have relied on some strong 3-point shooting, and if they keep this up they could get the Bulls into a track meet – similar to the team’s game against the Kings.

Javon Freeman-Liberty has been great for Chicago this summer, and the Bulls are hoping for more from 2022 first-round pick Dalen Terry as well.

I’ll root for points in this early afternoon matchup.

Pick: OVER 178.5 (-110)
