The Celtic Challenge is a pilot competition for women's rugby players from Scotland, Ireland and Wales. It is supported by World Rugby. The aim is to launch a full, six-team tournament in 2024. Scottish Rugby will be represented by The Thistles. The coaching set-up is expected to be confirmed in the New Year. Ireland will have a Combined Provinces XV in 2023. They will play their home games at the Kingspan Stadium in Belfast. Wales will represent their team through a Development XV. WRU will also be representing their players through their development team.
