Celtics vs. Wizards NBA expert prediction, odds, key players for Oct. 30

The Boston Celtics are looking to move to 3-0 on the season when they take on the Washington Wizards in Washington, D.C. on Monday night.

The Wizards are 1-1 this season, but they rank 26th in the league in defensive rating through two games. That could be a problem against a lethal Boston offense that features Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kristaps Porzingis.

After beating the Miami Heat on Friday night, Boston had the weekend off before taking on the Wizards in this game. The Celtics should be rested, and they come into this matchup as major favorites.

A great place to bet on this matchup is WynnBET Sportsbook, the best place for Massachusetts bettors. The Celtics are favored in this game at WynnBET and all our odds in this story come from there.

Celtics vs. Wizards key players to watch

Boston Celtics

Jayson Tatum: Tatum is off to a great start this season, averaging 28.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. He should feast against a Washington team that nearly allowed 150 points in its first game of the season.

Washington Wizards

Tyus Jones: The Wizards acquired Jordan Poole this offseason, but it’s been the other guard they got – Tyus Jones – that has been the most effective. Through two games, Jones is averaging 15.0 points and 6.5 assists per game while shooting 50.0 percent from 3.

Celtics vs. Wizards prediction and pick

It’s hard to bet on Washington in this spot, especially since the team allowed 143 points to the Indiana Pacers in its season opener.

Boston is the best offense that the Wizards have faced so far this season, as the team has star power at all positions and ranks seventh in the NBA in offensive rating through two games.

Despite losing some depth, the Celtics have gotten great production out of their top six players to open this season, covering the spread in one of their two games in the process.

I think Poole and Jones may have a tough time against elite defenders like Jrue Holiday and Derrick White, and that’s going to put a lot of pressure on Kyle Kuzma and the rest of the Wizards to produce to keep up with this Boston offense.

This is a game that a championship-caliber team should win easily, and I’ll back the Celtics to do just that.

Pick: Celtics -10 (-110)
