Challengers face Tornado Bee in mouthwatering clash

Challengers were declared league champions last season by UCA only for the AGM to reverse this decision and award the trophy to Tornado B.

Whether revenge is on their minds is another issue all together.

Despite massive recruitment in the off season bringing in Irfan Afridi, David Wabwire and Shahzad Kamal, Challengers have had an indifferent season failing to mount a reasonable challenge compared to rivals Damani and Tornado B. They suffered an embarrassing loss to KICC failing to chase 93 runs eventually bowled out for 62 runs.

Challengers will be counting on the national team players  David Wabwire, Arthur Kyobe, Hamu Kayondo, Shahzad and Afridi plus reliable Henry Ssenyondo and Captain Ivan Thawithemwira.

Their opponents Tornado B are unbeaten this season and have been very consistent in their performances. The Jeremy Kibuuka Musoke led side will be looking to Roger Mukasa for inspiration.

It remains unknown whether their Kenyan counterparts will be available for the game as some are involved in the on going U19 World Cup Qualifiers in Nairobi as coaches.

They will miss the services of regular wicket keeper Fred Achelam who is on national duty with the U19 team in Nairobi.

Challengers and Tornado B has never been boring and the clash in Lugogo should be interesting for the fans.

At Kyambogo, KICC will take on a depleted Charity with the latter missing over 5 players because of the on going U19 World Cup Qualifiers in Nairobi.

Cosmas Kyewuta, Ronald Opio, Ashraf Senkubuge, Stephen Wambose plus media manager Innocent Ndaula are all in Nairobi and it will be hard for Charity to ease their relegation woes.

KICC will also miss the services of in form Zephaniah Katungi and Nsubuga Siraje who are in Nairobi but in Frank Nsubuga and Davis Karashani they still have enough fire power.

In Entebbe, the onform Avengers take on Mwiri in the game that has been rescheduled. Avengers will be looking to finish the first round as the top team in Division 3 and a win over Mwiri will enable them over take Kampala Pirates.

In Buddo, Division 2 table leaders Premier will take on ACC. Premier are odds on favorite for promotion after notching up 5 wins out of 5 games.

ACC on the other hand will be looking to keep up with the top teams to give themselves a chance of promotion when the second round starts.
