Champions League predictions: Picks, odds ahead of round of 16
European soccer's biggest annual tournament is back this week.
The UEFA Champions League returns to action with the start of its knockout stages after a two-month hiatus that followed the group stage. Sixteen teams remain in the tournament and are set to play the first of two legs in the round of 16 over the next two weeks.
This week, F.C. Copenhagen, last year's Danish Superliga champions, host Manchester City of the English Premier League in its second knockout stage appearance ever and first since 2010-11. In addition, the German Bundesliga's RB Leipzig host the Spanish La Liga's Real Madrid; Paris Saint-Germain of the French Ligue 1 face La Liga's Real Sociedad; and Lazio of Italy's Serie A host the Bundesliga's Bayern Munich.
Next week features the remaining games in the round of 16's first leg: PSV Eindhoven of the Dutch Eredivisie host Dortmund of the Bundesliga; Serie A's Inter Milan host La Liga's Atlético Madrid; Portuguese Premeira Liga's F.C. Porto host Arsenal of the Premier League; and Serie A's Napoli hosts La Liga's F.C. Barcelona.
