Charlotte Fry Crowned 2022 FEI Best Athlete

The FEI Awards Gala 2022 was held in Cape Town on Sunday 13 November 2022. It was the closing ceremony of the FEi General Assembly in South Africa.

Charlotte Fry, 26, has been awarded the FEI Best Athlete Award for her performance at the 2022 World Championships in Herning. She won two gold medals in the individual Grand Prix Special and the Grand Grand Printer Freestyle. In 2018, she won the Dressage World Championship for seven-year-old Young Horses in Ermelo (NED) riding Glamourdale. Fry was a member of the British Dressages team at European Championships and Olympic Games in 2020.

Charlotte Fry has been crowned the 2022 FEI Best Athlete. Alice Casburn has won the Rising Star Award for her achievements in Eventing. She is the youngest entry on the Badminton Horse Trials entry list having turned 20 in January this year. Cas burn won individual bronze and Team gold for Great Britain at the FEi Eventeing European Championships for Young Riders in July 2022. She was presented with an elegant timepiece from the Longines. Longine's Vice President Marketing Matthieu Baumgartner said it's a pleasure to support the talents of the equestrian world.

Charlotte Fry has been crowned 2022 FEI Best Athlete. Kerryn Edmans was awarded the FEi Best Groom of the Year for his work as a groom for Tim and Jonelle Price.

Dressage SA Solidarity Stars Project won the FEI Solidararity Award 2022. The project was created to identify disadvantaged athletes and give them the opportunity to be coached by experts and enter shows. Charlotte Fry was crowned the 2022 FEi Best Athlete. The award is given each year to an equestrian development project or an individual or organisation that has demonstrated skill, dedication and energy in expanding equesteemed sport.

Charlotte Fry Crowned 2022 FEI Best Athlete. Muthoni Kimani Wins FEi Against All Odds Award. Jumping athlete Mothoni was hit by a car while riding her pony at the age of eight. After a second riding accident at 15-years-old, she suffered back pains and headaches for about three months. She was later selected to join the Cavalleria Toscana Academy in Italy. With very little preparation time and financial support, Mithoni entered her first CSI2* this October in San Giovanni.

Charlotte Fry has been crowned the 2022 FEI Best Athlete. The winner was decided by combining 50% of the public votes cast on FEi.org and 50%. of judges’ votes. It is the first time that the awards are being held on the African continent.
