Checking out the CFP Odds Again

It has been a terrific 2023 college football season, but we are actually starting to near the end. There is still a ton of work to be done, but there are only about ten teams or so that actually have a chance to win the College Football Playoffs.

While betting on the CFP winner is something that you want to do as early as possible, you can still get some valuable odds if you make that bet now. Here is a look at some of the current odds to win the College Football Playoff and a prediction on which team gets that done.

The Georgia Bulldogs have won the national championship two years in a row, and they entered the season as a big favorite to get that done yet again. Georgia was the favorite to win the CFP through the first few weeks of the season, but they have suddenly been passed up by a team from the Big Ten Conference.

It is the Michigan Wolverines that are now the favorites to win the title this season at +250 at Bookmaker. This ascension from Michigan comes at a strange time, though, as it appears that the program could be in trouble based on a cheating allegation.

Georgia is still clearly in the mix, though, and they have the second-best odds to win the championship at +300. The Bulldogs are still undefeated, and they are a big favorite to win the SEC East Division.

Fans would love to see a matchup of these two teams in the final game, as we were all robbed of that matchup a season ago. At this point, it would still be an upset to see a team from outside of Michigan or Georgia win it all.

All of the Power 5 Conferences currently have an undefeated team, and those teams are inside of the top 10 as well. That has created a ton of drama in the race to get into the top four teams, and the betting odds reflect that as well.

Beyond Michigan and Georgia, here are the other teams that currently have the best odds to get into the final tournament of the year:

  • Ohio State Buckeyes +600
  • Florida State Seminoles +700
  • Washington Huskies +900
  • Oklahoma Sooners +1200
  • Alabama Crimson Tide +1400

Ohio State and Florida State currently look like the two other teams that will get into the CFP, but there is still a long way to go. Washington is currently undefeated in the Pac-12, and Oklahoma is on top of the Big 12 Conference with a perfect record.

Lurking in the background is one-loss Alabama, and the Crimson Tide can easily find a way to sneak into the playoff and make some noise. Alabama always feels like a team with a shot, but they are going to have to beat Georgia in the SEC Championship Game first.

It’s very tempting to take the Michigan Wolverines to win the College Football Playoff this year, but this cheating scandal could end up creating some issues. While it seems unlikely that Michigan is going to be kept out of the mix because of it, there is no doubt that a distraction is coming.

The Georgia Bulldogs are just coasting through another undefeated season, and it can be easy to forget just how great that team is. Georgia is still going to be in the CFP even with one loss, and that means that they have to win just two games.

Bet on the Georgia Bulldogs at +300 to win their third straight College Football Playoff title.
