Cheltenham Festival 2023 Wednesday results in full: Every winner including Champion Chase
The Queen Mother Champion Chase takes centre stage as the Cheltenham Festival continues into its second day.
Constitution Hill and Honeysuckle claimed many of the headlines on day one as more than 60,000 racegoers turned out to enjoy the action. Those two storylines undoubtedly got people excited in what was an electric start to the four-day festival.
On day two Edwardstone and Energumene are the duo who are sure to set pulses racing in today’s feature race. Defending champion Energumene will face six rivals, including Alan King’s Edwardstone, as he hopes to repeat his efforts when he shone last year for Willie Mullins.
But many are tipping Edwardstone who has developed into a top two-miler and starred with his win in last year’s Arkle.
Third favourite Editeur Du Gite could also spring a surprise in the event as well, as he beat the aforementioned duo in the Clarence House in January.
Elsewhere on day two there is still plenty for punters to get stuck into as two Gordon Elliot charges go head-to-head in the Cross Country Chase at 4.10pm. Defending champion Delta Work will go up against Galvin - who came fourth in the Gold Cup last season - for those bragging rights.
Mullins’ Impair Et Passe has been firmly installed as the market leader for the 1.30pm while Sir Gerhard can complete an incredible triple in the 2.10pm should he add a Grade One chase to his previous wins at the Cheltenham Festival.
Run For Oscar is considered the likely favourite in the 2.50pm although Good Risk At All and San Salvador could also shine.
