Grand National full field, odds and tips as horse is late non-runner

A total of 39 horses are planned to run in the Grand National at Aintree after Escaria Ten was withdrawn from the race on Saturday morning due to lameness.

The bookies report that Back On The Lash is attracting plenty of support ahead of the big race.

The nine-year-old’s odds have shortened into 18/1 from 25/1, with Ladbrokes reporting it as the worst result in the book.

Other horses the public have latched onto include The Big Dog at 12/1, Roi Mage at 20/1, Velvet Elvis at 25/1, and Coko Beach who is also a 25/1 shot.

Meanwhile, ‘The Blackmore Effect’ is showing no signs of slowing down. After making history two-years-ago, Rachael Blackmore heads the betting for the Grand National with Ain’t That A Shame at 8/1.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “This year’s public horse is shaping up to be Back On The Lash. Whether it’s down to the fun name or the fact he is owned by Harry Redknapp, punters want to be with him.

At the head of the betting remains Ain’t That A Shame. Rachael Blackmore’s pulling power is as strong as ever, with the nation firmly behind her.”
