Cheltenham NEWS – Latest Updates from Cheltenham Festival 2024

14/03/2024 – BREAKING NEWS: Nicky Henderson, a highly regarded trainer known for his impressive performance at the Cheltenham Festival in past years, has had a lack of success in the 2024 edition. Unfortunately, two more of his horses have been pulled from the Cheltenham Festival 2024 event. Sir Gino was the frontrunner to win the Triumph Hurdle on Friday, while Shanagh Bob was scheduled to participate in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle on Gold Cup Day at the Cheltenham Festival.

Cheltenham Day 4 Feature Race – The Cheltenham Gold Cup Steeple Chase

The biggest race of the festival takes place at 15:30 on Friday, Cheltenham Day four, as crowds gather for The Cheltenham Gold Cup race. Can the 2023 champion Galopin Des Champs secure back-to-back Gold Cup victories, or will his closest competitor and current nemesis Fastorslow, who has beaten him twice since his Gold Cup triumph last year, quash his chances? Shishkin and L’Homme Presse will also be out to do everything they can to beat him to victory, however, with the top form of Des Champs, it will take something monumental to cause an upset in the Willie Mullins camp.

Cheltenham Festival 2023 Recap

Day 4 was the perfect conclusion that Willie Mullins, who claimed two of the three Grade 1’s, including the Gold Cup, could have hoped for. The Triumph Hurdle was won by Lossiemouth (11/8F), who got off to the perfect start, followed by 3 fellow Mullins trainees. Faivoir (33/1), one of Dan Skelton’s, took victory in the County Handicap Hurdle, followed by Stay Far Away (18/1), crossing the line first in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle. Galopin Des Champs (7/5F) won the Gold Cup in remarkable style, storming his way to finish seven lengths ahead of Bravemansgame, the runner-up. Impervious defeated Allegorie De Vassy to win the Mares’ Chase, while Premier Magic (66/1) shocked the field in the Hunters’ Chase. The final race, the Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle, was won by Iroko (6/1), who gave its trainers their first Cheltenham Festival winner.
