The Chicago Bulls have won two games in a row and four of their last five. This surge has brought them back into the playoff picture as they are now 33-37 and sit in 10th place in the Eastern Conference. They have opened up a 1.5 game lead over 11th place Washington and Indiana and they are just 1.5 games behind 9th place Toronto. The Bulls are coming off a big win Saturday night as they beat the Heat 113-99.

The Bulls got an offensive spark from an unexpected placer, guard Patrick Beverly, who had 17 points on 5 three pointers. “No matter how well I shoot it, I’m 38% for my career from 3-point (range) for over a decade,” said Beverley, reported ESPN. "No matter how well I shoot it, I think it’s the look of me that people want to leave me open. Keep letting them do it. Everyone sees me as a defensive guy. They don’t see me as a 3-point shooter, but my numbers are there with the best of them.” DeMar DeRozan led the Bulls with 24 points and 10 assists.

They have vaulted themselves into a tie for second in the Eastern Conference playoff race with the Celtics and at this rate, and the way the Celtics are playing, they will probably pass them out. This would be a huge edge, as a second-place finish would give them a game 7 at home if they faced the Celtics in the second round of the playoffs.

The Sixers took care of business on Saturday night, notching their 8th straight win with a 141-121 blowout win over Indiana. The Sixers shot an electric 61% from the floor and made 15 of 35 from three-point range. Joel Embiid did his thing with 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists while Tyrese Maxey added 31 points and 7 assists, as well. Tobias Harris chipped 24 points for the Sixers. James Harden missed the game with a foot injury. He is questionable for Monday, as is PJ Tucker.

Insiders Status:

Chicago's resurgence has stemmed from its improved defensive play. A big part of that has been Patrick Beverly, who came over at the midseason point and has really helped their defense. We know they can score with their big 3, but defense has been the difference as of late. We know Philly can play defense too, as they are third in the NBA in fewest points allowed. Chicago has seen the under hit more often that not lately and the under is 39-30-1 for them this year. Plus, James Harden is questionable for this one and they may choose to rest him another day before the long road trip. If he does miss it, Philly won't be able to run up the points on the Bulls like they did against Indiana. Check Harden's status, but if he's out, I favor the under.
