Chicago Cubs: Assessing the left-handed power production
Michael Conforto was traded to the San Francisco Giants on Friday morning. Ian Happ, Cody Bellinger and Matt Mervis are the only left-handed power hitters on the Chicago Cubs 40-man roster. They are all prospects. Matt is the team's 21st-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline. He hit 36 home runs in 137 MiLB games in 2022. Cody hit 19 home Runs in 144 games last year. The team is heavily right-handered. They have a lot of lefties in their lineup. It's not clear if Matt will be on their team in 2023. If he is, he will probably hit around 20 homeruns.
