Churchill Downs: Two Phil’s wins by 5 1/4 lengths in Street Sense
Two Phil's won the Street Sense Stakes at Churchill Downs on Sunday. Jareth Loveberry rode the horse to a 5 1/4-length victory. Hayes Strike finished second, Fliparino third and King Ice was scratched. The Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) at the same track on November 26 could be next target for Two Phil’s. The race is a points prep for the 2023 Kentucky Derby. Two Philip's record is 5-0-1 and $195,450. Top Recruit, Red Route One, Honed, Frosted Departure, Jace”s Road, Boppy O and Western Ghent finished in the order of finish.
Hoosier Philly won the Rags to Riches for 2-year-old fillies by 7 1/2 lengths over T Max. Peacock Lass was second, followed by Stellar Lady, East Shore and Dre Me Less. Fun and Feisty was third, while Pocahontas was a late scratch. Sunday's payday was worth $121,140. Hoosier Philadelphia is 2 for 0-0-1 with earnings of $190,000. Tom Amoss trained Serengeti Empress to win the 2019 Kentucky Oaks and earn more than $2.1 million.
