Hoosier Philly puts on a show in Golden Rod to win easily
Hoosier Philly won the Golden Rod at Churchill Downs by five lengths. She collected $242,470 first prize and 10 points. Knockyoursocksoff was the "winner" of the separate race for second. Pretty Mischievous came in second with Tyler Gaffalione aboard. Tom Amoss trained Serengeti Empress that won Longines Kentucky Oaks. He has been training since 1987. Hoosier Philadelphia broke her maiden Sept. 25. Before the race, she won Rags to Riches. Her final time was :01.31 faster than Instant Coffee’s victory in the Grade 2, $400,000 Kentucky Jockey Club for colts one race later.
