College Basketball Best Bets, Odds Today: Matchups, Picks, Predictions for Tuesday

Houston Cougars are the new No. 1 ranked team in the AP poll. There are seven AP-ranked teams playing on Tuesday. The team that won the preseason poll was ranked 12th or lower in its previous ranking.

Bellarmine (off) vs. Kentucky, Maryland (-900) against Louisville, Syracuse (-550), Syracuse (+550) versus Illinois, Norfolk State (-2000) v Houston, Baylor (-280) at Marquette, Virginia (-175) vs Michigan, UC Irvine (+480)vs. San Diego State.

Bellarmine (off) vs. Kentucky, Maryland (-900) against Louisville, Syracuse (-550) versus Illinois, Norfolk State (-2000) v Houston (-12500), Baylor (-280) at Marquette, Virginia (-175) and Michigan (-150) are on Tuesday. UC Irvine (+480) is on UC San Diego State.

Virginia is the favorite to beat Iowa. Wichita State is an upset pick. Illinois is a prop pick for the Illinois First Half Spread.

Virginia is playing on the road against Michigan. The Cavaliers have beaten Baylor and Illinois in the last three days. DraftKings provides the best value for a moneyline wager. All other sportsbooks are at -180 or higher.

Iowa lost to TCU in the Emerald Coast Classic finals. The team also failed to cover as 8.5-point favorites during a 74-71 win over Clemson. Iowa is averaging 100.3 points per game in their first three home games. Josh Pastner's team is preparing to shoot their way to success against whatever defense Josh pastner uses. BetMGM is one of the few sportsbooks still offering a value proposition at -16 or -15.

Maryland is six games into the Kevin Willard era and the Terrapins are already buying into his defensive principles. Louisville is 0-6 and hasn't scored more than 62 points in any of its last four games. The Cardinals haven't won since their trip to Maui.

Wichita State is a heavy favorite against Missouri. The Shockers have been tough to beat at home during Isaac Brown's three seasons. Missouri is 7-0 and has feasted on seven ranked opponents.

Syracuse has trailed Bryant by 11 points at the half and was outscored 21-16 over the final 10 minutes of the first half against St. John’s. This is by far the Orange's biggest test of this season, and its first true road game against the No. 16 team in the country.
