College Football Division Winners Best Bets with Betting Odds

If you're into college football futures bets, which I am assuming you are, you have probably already seen the odds for conference winners, team wins, and maybe a pick to win the National Championship.

Here are some much harder-to-find betting odds on two of the division winners. We couldn't take up all of your time today with odds on, let's say, the SEC West. The No. 1-ranked Georgia Bulldogs are the favorites to take it down, but as you can imagine, the juice is far too thick at (-430).

So, I wanted to share with you today our best bets from the division winner odds.

We will now focus on the SEC West Division, where the Alabama Crimson Tide are the clear favorites to win it. LSU and Texas A&M are hopefuls.

From the hot and muggy Southern States to the rust belt of the American Midwest, we attempt to tackle the Big Ten East. The Ohio State Buckeyes are the slightest favorites over the rival Michigan State Wolverines.

It's a crime not to include this division race in our betting plays. What I love about it is that the two teams won't play each other until the final game of the 2023 College Football Regular Season.

This means that unless the Penn State Nittany Lions beat both teams, our tickets will still be good after Turkey Day. Now, for the hard part. Let's make these picks!

Doc’s Sports offers college football picks for every game on our college football predictions page.

SEC West Division Winner Betting Odds

Alabama: +105

LSU: +185

Texas A&M: +500

Ole Miss: +2000

Auburn: +2500

Arkansas: +2500

I knew we had moved to the wrong side of the tracks when my 5th-grade teacher pronounced Arkansas precisely how it's spelled. The Razorbacks have had some decent years as of late. I don't mind betting them in nonconference games. However, let's be real. They aren't going to win the SEC West.

Essentially, that leaves Bama, LSU, and the Aggies of Texas A&M. The latter two teams will play one another in the final game of the regular season. Death Valley will be the site.

Along with needing that road win, the Aggies will need to defeat the resurgent Vols in Knoxville as well as take out Ole Miss in Oxford. Oh, and they also have to play Bama, as you may have guessed.

That’s too much difficulty.

LSU has an easier conference schedule than the Crimson Tide, but that head-to-head matchup will likely loom large. I have Alabama doing what the Tide does for just north of even money.

Pick: Alabama Crimson Tide

Big Ten East Division Winner Betting Odds

Ohio State: +115

Michigan: +120

Penn State: +470

Maryland: +4000

Michigan State: +9500

Rutgers: +14000

If you ever want to be amazed by such a boring place, read up on all the super athletes along with the coaching legends who came out of state of Ohio.

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is from Toledo. The list goes on forever.

I guess the first question we need to answer here is: Is the lower half of the Big Ten East Division going to make any noise? Nah…

What about Penn State? I don't buy it. In all likelihood, they need to defeat both OSU and the U of M to win the division.

That leaves the boys at the top. Do we go Blue? They have defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes in the previous two seasons. It should be noted that the Wolverines will host "The Game" played in the final week of the regular season.

Michigan won't be replacing their QB like Ohio State is this year. There is drama looming over the potential suspension of head coach Jim Harbaugh. I still like the home field advantage, though, along with continuity from last season to be the difference makers for Michigan.

Pick: Michigan Wolverines

In Conclusion

Go Blue!

Michigan has won the previous two meetings with the Ohio State Buckeyes as well as opposite the Penn State Nittany Lions. State College always plays tough, but it won't be any more cold and nasty than the Wolverines are used to dealing with.

As for the SEC West Division winner, I'll take the betting favorite. We are still getting plus money on the Tide, albeit just 5 cents more on the dollar.

The teams at the very top of college football have been constants over the past decade. So, I don't mind riding that narrative to the bank once again.
