Favorite for the FCS Championship

South Dakota State (-280 via FanDuel)

The Jackrabbits are trading at -280 to defend their throne, meaning a bettor would have to wager $280 to win $100 on a FCS championship future. That might seem like a steep price at this stage of the postseason, but South Dakota State is 12-0 and has won 26 games in a row dating back to the 2022 campaign. That's the third-longest win streak in FCS history.

South Dakota State is coming off a 41-0 win over Mercer in the second round, marking the fourth time this season that the defense hasn't given up a touchdown. Villanova will be SDSU's next foe on Saturday.

FCS Championship odds 2024: Contender

The Grizzlies have established themselves as the second-best team in the FCS. They earned a convincing 49-19 victory over Delaware last time out, which marked their eighth consecutive win. 

Montana (11-1) will host Furman during a quarterfinal matchup on Friday, which is a rematch of the 2001 title game.

Whenever a program with as much pedigree as North Dakota State is listed at 7/1, you have to at least consider the value. The Bison have won seven of the last 10 FCS championships, and made it all the way to the title game a year ago before losing to South Dakota State.

North Dakota State (10-3) needed overtime to prevail against Montana State in the second round, and will likely need to take care of business on the road the rest of the way. A trip to South Dakota is on deck for Saturday.
