College Football Odds: Virginia Tech-Old Dominion prediction, odds and pick

Virginia Tech Hokies beat UNC in the first game of the season last year. Old Dominion lost to Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse three games in a row in 2021. They lost in Pinstripe Bowl to Maryland 54-10. OD defeated Virginia Tech back in 2018 in an upset. The Monarchs have a completely different schedule this year and will face the University of Virginia in two weeks.

Brent Pry is the new head coach for the Hokies. He will be a defensive-minded head Coach. The defense should improve as they were 7th in total yards allowed and 8th on the season in the ACC. Dax Hollifield led the team in tackles last year with 92 and had 4.5 sacks on season. Grant Wells should be the starting quarterback for Virginia Tech.

Old Dominion has 11 starters returning on the offensive line and a quarterback who was 5-2 as the starter last season. TE Zack Kuntz caught 73 passes last year at Penn State. He had the second most catches in the NCAA last term.
