College football Week 12 odds, schedule: Undefeated Washington an underdog at Oregon State

The 2023 college football season hasn’t seen much chaos in terms of the teams at the top yet, but the odds show that Week 12 has a decent chance to be the week that changes that. The top five teams have been the same for weeks, but Washington is not favored at Oregon State in one of the week’s marquee games.

As of Monday morning odds, Oregon State is favored by a point against the undefeated Huskies. The Beavers enter that game in Corvallis with a top-10 ranking, and Washington has not been as impressive in recent weeks. Each of the last six Washington games have been within one score in the last five minutes, including against 3-7 teams in Arizona State and Stanford.

Elsewhere, Georgia is favored by two scores at SEC East rival Tennessee. Georgia locked up the division last weekend before it took the field against Ole Miss thanks to a dominant win by Missouri against Tennessee. The Bulldogs followed up in prime time by dismantling the Rebels in Athens. A Georgia-Alabama SEC title game is already set, but the Bulldogs are still chasing a College Football Playoff spot. Will Tennessee be able to bounce back from an ugly loss?

As for the other top CFP contenders, Michigan is a three-score favorite against Maryland, Ohio State is a four-score favorite at home against Minnesota, and Florida State is hosting FCS North Alabama. Of the chasing one-loss teams, Louisville is favored by less than a field goal at Miami, Oregon is favored by more than 20 points at Arizona State, Texas is favored by about a touchdown at Iowa State and Alabama is also playing an FCS opponent in Chattanooga.

Of the top nine teams in the rankings, six are playing on the road, and three are favored by single digits. Maybe this will be a week that shakes things up at the top.

The ongoing bit of looking at Iowa’s listed point total and laughing continues with the Hawkeyes hosting Illinois on Saturday. The Hawkeyes went under yet again last week in a 22-0 win against Rutgers, but the total is up to 30.5 this week. Iowa’s total opened in the 20s each of the last two weeks, and the under still hit in both.

Here are the odds for games featuring an AP top 25 team, plus a few other notable games in Week 12. The odds for Florida State and Alabama are not posted because they play FCS teams.
