The Columbus Blue Jackets and Seattle Kraken are all set to square off tonight from Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. Puck-drop between the two sides is scheduled for 10 p.m. EST.

The Blue Jackets enter this game with a record of 15-31-3 on the season. They have gone 3-6-1 over their last ten games overall and did lose last time out. Columbus sits at the bottom of the entire NHL standings and it has been a struggle of a season for them so far. They are averaging 2.58 goals per game this season and are allowing 3.85 on average to opponents. Going up against the tough Kraken in this game, Columbus will need to really rely on their defense and goaltending. If they allow Seattle to dictate the pace of the game, it could be a long night for them.

As for the Kraken, they enter this contest with a record of 28-15-5 and have gone 6-3-1 over their last ten games. They currently sit in second place within the Pacific Division and are looking like a legit threat out in the Western Conference. As a team, Seattle is fourth in goals per game, scoring 3.66 on average. They allow 3.04 goals to opponents on average, which is good for 17th overall around the league. The biggest weakness of this team has been their penalty killing. They sit 31st in the league at 71.5 percent so this will need to be a major focus heading into this matchup.

Prediction: Seattle Kraken 3, Columbus Blue Jackets 2

I like the Kraken to take this game but I think Columbus puts up a fight here. Seattle has been the better team all season long and it translates into them grabbing yet another home win.
