COLUMN: Kentucky Should be Worried About Making the NCAA Tournament

Kentucky basketball team has been terrible this season.

Kentucky has won just one game in the last one third of the season. The Wildcats have lost to Michigan State, Gonzaga, UCLA and Missouri. Their upcoming schedule is very difficult. They play LSU, Arkansas, Tuscaloosa and Knoxville in January. They also play Kansas and Ole Miss. It's a tough schedule. UK will close the harsh stretch with the SEC-Big 12 Challenge at home against Kansas.

Kentucky is not guaranteed to make the NCAA Tournament. The team is struggling to find wins on the road and to compete with the best teams in the SEC. The schedule for the 2023 tournament is clear. Kentucky has a quick trip to Columbus for first two rounds and then to Louisville to try and reach the Final Four. Fans are clamoring about whether or not Lance Ware is the right fit at the '4' spot.

Kentucky lost to the Tigers. The team is struggling. Calipari's team has little to no confidence in themselves. They are playing in the NIT. They haven't won a game in a tournament since 2019. It's not going to change this March.
