Canada won the 2023 World Junior Championship. Connor Bedard, 17, was named tournament MVP. He has 31 goals and 70 points in 29 WHL games this season. Bedards is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the NHL draft. He declined to comment on his play after the tournament. The WJC is a great success for Canada. It's good that they won it. They haven't won a Stanley Cup yet. Their last victory was in 1968. Canada won 20th gold medal in this event. This is their first since they were founded. In the past, they have won only one gold.
