Constitution Hill Adds Another Grade One Success

Constitution Hill is already being referred to as one of the greatest hurdlers of all time, and he enhanced his reputation further with victory in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day.

Nicky Henderson’s runner has now won four races at Grade One level. He maintained his 100% record with a 17-length success at the Surrey-based racecourse. Under the hands of Nico de Boinville, he cantered home on the bridle, finishing ahead of former Champion Hurdle winner Epatante and Highway One O Two respectively.

This latest win was the five-year-old’s second success of the season. He made his return to action in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle. That was his opening appearance outside of novice company, but the result remained the same, as his rivals could not get close to him in the closing stages of that race.

Constitution Hill remains on course for the Champion Hurdle where he is sure to be popular with horse racing bettors for the 2m contest on day one of the Cheltenham Festival.
