Chase Runs: 9

Chase Wins: 4

Corach Rambler has been a real classy staying handicap chaser in recent times and after winning the 2021 Ultima Handicap Chase off a mark of 140 at the Cheltenham Festival, Lucinda Russell's classy nine-year-old then returned in mid-March to retain his crown off a mark of 146. On both occasions, he's been given an eye-catching patient ride by Derek Fox, who has stormed through in the closing stages to land the prize on day one of the festival at Cheltenham and he shaped like he could be a real key player in the 2023 Grand National and is a prominent figure in the 2023 Grand National Odds at the moment.

A winner at Aintree as a novice chaser, Corach Rambler is a relatively lightly-raced performer having only had 12 career starts - nine over fences - and he kicked off this season with a creditable third placed finish in the Colin Parker Memorial at Carlisle back in October. A leading player for the Coral Gold Cup Handicap Chase at Newbury, Corach Rambler ran really well to finish fourth to Le Milos in late November and he was then put away for the spring.

Russell then sent him to Cheltenham and was well fancied to retain his Ultima crown and he duly did so with aplomb and he's now effectively "well-in" at the weights for the Grand National, as the handicapper would like to enhance his mark considerably in light of his Ultima win.  Likely to be featured towards the lower end of the weights a mark of 146 is extremely attractive for a horse that jumps and stays with aplomb and with the aforementioned Russell and Fox combining for Grand National glory back in 2017 with One For Arthur then Corach Rambler will be popular amongst punters' Grand National Tips for the 2023 race.
