Could he be special? Hannibal Barca out to impress on debut for Joseph O'Brien

Hannibal Barca is making his debut for Joseph O'Brien. Leading Light won the Group 3 at Doncaster in 2013. Anchorage is a main contender this year. He won a novice stakes at Salisbury and finished third in the Eyrefield Stakes at Leopardstown. Johnny Murtagh is throwing Lyrical Poetry into the race. He also runs Seisai and Earlswood. The latter won at Gowran Park last time. It's a race that he won last year with Earlwood, who is 92-rated. Hannibal Barcav is the son of Zoffany and related to Fledged.

Joseph O'Brien is looking forward to the start of Hannibal Barca's career. He is 9lb better than Anchorage. O’Brien has liked him since the first day he arrived from Brian Meehan's yard. Seisai is a solid filly who is on the lookout for more black type.

Anchorage is in good form and ready to start back. Sussex ran well enough in Cork and seems to be progressing all the time. Global Energy needs an ease in the ground so Sheila Lavery is coming here.
