The Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs will wrap up Sunday night with a showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers. Both of these NFC rivals impressed on Wild Card Weekend, as the Cowboys followed the 49ers’ blowout of the Seattle Seahawks by beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with ease.

With an NFC Championship appearance on the line, our experts have broken down Sunday’s matchup in San Francisco and have made their Cowboys vs. 49ers predictions based on the odds provided by Caesars Sportsbook.

If you haven’t heard of Jim ‘Mattress Mack’, you will now. Jim McIngvale, or ‘Mattress Mack’, went viral because of the big bets he’s placed on other sports teams. He won $75 million when the Houston Astros won the 2022 World Series, which was the largest payout in sports betting history. He recently lost $3 million on TCU to beat Georgia in the College Football Playoff National Championship, so he’s going to try and bounce back with the Cowboys’ money line.

McIngvale posted two separate pictures of $1 million bets on the Cowboys’ money line, one of which was at +165 odds, and the other was at +170 odds. Our experts will be rooting with ‘Mattress Mack’ because they love Dallas +3.5. If you want to fade or follow our experts and ‘Mattress Mack’, use this link to before the Cowboys battle the 49ers.

Our experts are bringing you a couple of Cowboys vs. 49ers predictions, including the under, with the game total set at 46.5 points. Both of these teams boast stellar defenses, so it won’t be easy for the opposing offenses to score in bunches. Dallas features the eight-best passing defense in the NFL, while San Francisco finished the regular season as the second-best against the run. Each franchise finds itself in the top five among scoring defenses, and they are the top two in turnover margin.

It’s also hard to trust either quarterback with a ton of confidence. Brock Purdy of the 49ers is a rookie seventh-round draft pick who began the season as the third QB on the depth chart. Injuries have propelled him into the starting role, and he has performed admirably, but the competition level has been unspectacular.

Facing Dallas on the big stage of the Divisional Round will be a whole different beast. Meanwhile, Cowboys signal-caller Dak Prescott was outstanding against Tampa Bay, but his inconsistency has been a big problem. Prescott threw 15 interceptions in 12 games during the regular season, including a ridiculous 11 in the last seven contests.

All things considered, our experts are kicking off their Cowboys vs. 49ers predictions with a play on the under, which you can fade or follow if you at Caesars Sportsbook.

Our experts’ remaining Cowboys vs. 49ers predictions are focused on Dallas +3.5. For all of Prescott’s inconsistencies, Dallas is still quite simply the total package. No other NFC playoff representative has the combination of a top-10 QB, a well-stocked backfield with Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott, an elite No. 1 receiver in CeeDee Lamb, a dominant offensive line and a ferocious pass rush led by Micah Parsons.

This franchise is rarely short on talent; it has just struggled under the bright lights of the playoffs in recent years. Monday’s performance in Tampa, however, should give Prescott and company a huge dose of confidence and perhaps send them off to the races.

That’s not to say it will be easy against the red-hot 49ers, but Purdy has faced only one top-12 DVOA defense since he has become the starter. He has not run into a single top-10 defense when it comes to QB pressure rate (Dallas is third in that department).

On the other side of the ball, San Francisco’s defense is stout – but keep in mind that the Cowboys have pinned big numbers on strong defenses (40 points on the Philadelphia Eagles, 34 on the Jacksonville Jaguars and 28 on the Green Packers, for example).

In what will likely be a competitive contest between two great, in-form teams, our experts think getting more than a field goal’s worth of points with the visitors is too good to pass up.
