Cubs' Christmas Wish List
The Chicago Cubs have been active this offseason, signing Cody Bellinger and Jameson Taillon. They also let Willson Contreras leave for nothing and signed with the St. Louis Cardinals. The team needs to make a big splash to compete for the National League Central title in 2023. Carlos Correa is a top-tier defender in the prime of his career. He has six 20+ home run seasons on his résumé and he led all shortstops with an OPS of .833 last year.
Correa signed a six-year, $200 million dollar deal with the Cubs. Trea Turner and Xander Bogaerts each received 11-years deals worth more than $280 million dollars. Correa's contract is six million more per season than Turner's.
Cubs sign Carlos Rodón for $160 million over five years. Rodon played for the San Francisco Giants last year. He led Major League Baseball with 12 strikeouts per 9 IP.
