Dahlia and Swain: the two-time King George winners Enable has moved past

Enable won the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes for the third time. Dahlia and Swain were the only other two King Georgians to have won both races.

Dahlia was the first dual winner of the King George. She won the Irish Oaks in 1973 and the Juddmonte International in 1975. Dahlia finished third at Ascot in the race of century in 1974. Enable is the only other King Georgian winner.

Enable has moved past Swain. Swains won a Coronation Cup and finished fourth in an Arc for Andre Fabre in 1997. He was a 16-1 outsider for the Princess of Wales's Stakes at Newmarket in July. Helissio, Singspiel and Pilsudski were expected to fight out the finish. But Swans held off Piludki by a length.
