Dallas Mavs Mark Cuban wants to bring 'Vegas-like' arena to Texas
Mark Cuban wants to partner with Las Vegas Sands to build a new arena in the middle of a resort and casino. Every major sports franchise in Texas is part of the Sports Betting Alliance. Sen. Carol Alvarado has filed a constitutional amendment to be considered during the 88th Texas legislative session, which begins Jan. 10. If approved, it would legalize sports betting and allow a newly created Texas Gaming Commission to issue licenses for up to four destination resorts in metropolitan areas. The Mavericks' 30-year lease expires July 28, 2031.
