Dallas Stars cut five more players as trim down to opening-night roster continues
The Dallas Stars made five cuts to their preseason roster on Thursday afternoon. They loaned Oskar Bäck, Mavrik Bourque, Fredrik Karlström and Fredrika Olofsson to the Texas Stars, and Ryan Shea to AHL affiliate Texas. There are 26 healthy players remaining in camp.
Jamie Benn, Riley Damiani, Radek Faksa, Luke Glendening, Denis Gurianov, Roope Hintz, Wyatt Johnston, Joel Kiviranta, Mason Marchment, Joe Pavelski, Jacob Peterson, Jason Robertson, Tyler Seguin, Logan Stankoven are the forwards.
Defensemen (9): Will Butcher, Jani Hakanpaa, Joel Hanley, Thomas Harley, Miro Heiskanen, Esa Lindell, Nils Lundkvist, Colin Miller, Ryan Suter.

Ty Dellandrea is out for 2-3 weeks with a broken finger. Nick Caamano is injured and out three months. The Stars are expected to carry 13 forwards for the season opener in Nashville on Oct. 13. With 14 healthy forwards remaining, either Johnston or Stankoven is assured of a roster spot. Riley Damiani scored his first goal of the preseason in Colorado on Wednesday. Joel Hanley, Thomas Harley and Will Butcher are competing for a spot on the defense. Roster is due to the NHL on Monday at 4 p.m.
FanDuel’s odds for NHL awards had several Dallas Stars options to bet on. Pete DeBoer is favourite to win the Jack Adams Award. Miro Heiskanen is a favorite to get the Norris Trophy. Roope Hintz is the favorite for the Hart Trophy and Tyler Seguin is favorite with the Rocket Richard Trophy, but Jacob Peterson is no longer waivers exempt.
