Stanford expects the men to advance to the quarter-finals. He expects Series champions Australia to set the pace in the women’s competition. The women haven't played on the Series since May. They have played in between the Commonwealth Games and World cup.

The top four teams in the series will qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. There will be an annual Grand Finale to crown the Series champions. Men's and women's teams will receive equal participation fees. There is a 70% increase in Worldrugby's investment in participation.
