Aspinall has, as mentioned above, landed 37 180s across the tournament to Clayton’s paltry 18 in all so the first leg of this Combo should look after itself. Clayton does do better on the stat regarding Checkouts and is the favourite to win but we have to remember that the overall record between the pair is five wins for the Englishman and six for the Welshman with one being declared a draw. This isn’t going to be the easy game for Clayton that the market odds are suggesting.
Aspinall has the beating of Clayton in him and we see him powering ahead thanks to his talent for chalking up high scores very quickly. As such he’s going to have better chances of making those important Checkouts and we think he’ll draw level on the career stats and make it 6-6-1.
Remember too that Aspinall is from only an hour down the road and will have a boisterous crowd roaring him on. The Odds are too good here to refuse for a man who’s been playing some great darts over the tournament.
