Detroit Red Wings vs. Canucks Game 51 Preview, Prediction, Odds

The Detroit Red Wings are fresh off a 2-1 victory against the Calgary Flames on Thursday night. The team has split their first two games on this side of the All-Star Break and is looking to stay in the win column as the Canadian teams continue to funnel through Detroit.

The Detroit Red Wings are slated for a noon start as the Vancouver Canucks are in town for a Saturday matinee match-up. The Canucks, who have had their fair share of organizational issues in 2022-23, are looking to try and squeak out a few wins.

Vancouver is fresh off of a 6-5 victory over the New York Islanders. Their offense is led by Elias Pettersson, who is the team’s true no.1 option now that they have moved on from Bo Horvat. Even though the Red Wings did not land him, the Horvat trade had some stake in the deal with New York, as Horvat’s trade value says things about Dylan Larkin and his trade value heading into the deadline.

The Red Wings’ offense needs to kick it into gear. Against a Canucks team that can swiftly be taken down, the Red Wings have to go out and earn it. Even after a win against Calgary, the offense left more to be desired, as has been the case for a while now.

Detroit Red Wings game information and prediction vs. Canucks

The Red Wings should be able to stay in the win column if they go out and score. Keeping Pettersson and Brock Boeser off the scoresheet is essential, but finding their offense and converting on scoring chances is going to be just as important.

Game: Detroit Red Wings (22-20-8) v.s. Vancouver Canucks (21-27-4)

When: Saturday, February 11th

Time: 12:00 PM ET

Where: Little Caesars Arena

Where to Watch: Bally Sports Detroit

Odds: According to DraftKings, the Detroit Red Wings are the favorite on the Moneyline with a -140 payout. The Canucks are +120 on the Moneyline but are the favorite with a -205 payout on the Puck Line at +1.5. The Red Wings are -1.5 with a +175 payout on the Puck Line. The over/under is currently set at 6.5. The over is set at -115, and the under is set at -105.

Prediction: The Red Wings have the upper hand here. The Canucks season has been a rough one in terms of off-ice distraction at times, so as long as the Red Wings are able to get the puck into the back of the net and play a sound game top-to-bottom. For that reason, I like the Red Wings Moneyline and the under with Husso in net once again.
