On Wednesday night, the White Sox will look to break a 5-game skid against the Royals, as the Royals look to complete the sweep. Neither of these teams have been great this year, but the Royals have been playing better as of late, and they have a bright future which they’ll build around Bobby Witt Jr. As for this game, the White Sox will have a starting pitching advantage, and their losing streak will need to end eventually. Starting for Chicago is Touki Toussaint, who’s been decent this year with a 4.87 ERA. This gives him the edge over the Kansas City starter Jordan Lyles, who is 4-15 on the season with a 6.29 ERA.

If there’s anyone the White Sox should be able to take advantage of on offense, it’s Lyles. Luis Robert Jr. has 35 home runs on the year with a .271 average, along with Andrew Benintendi hitting .272. If the White Sox can get base runners on early and often, I could see them running up the score and breaking the skid here. Bobby Witt Jr. has been on fire and certainly someone the White Sox should try to pitch around, as he has 28 HR and 85 RBI. Otherwise, Toussaint is due for a good start against a 44-96 Royals lineup. Let’s root for the White Sox to get back on track a bit here and win this one due to the pitching advantage.
