Zadina was recently signed to a three-year contract worth $1.825 million per season. He is a good skater who effectively uses his agility and puck skills in transition. His zone transition numbers are among the best on Detroit's roster. The Czech forward has improved his two-way game at the pro level. However, his consistency defensively hasn't been there. He has shown some good playmaking ability at times in the NHL. Zadinas' scoring touch has been underwhelming at NHL level, despite putting up 44 goals in QMJHL in his draft year.

Filip Zadina was drafted sixth overall in 2018. He has been yo-yo'd between the NHL and the AHL during his first two pro seasons. The last few seasons he has played on the third and fourth line. His team was not very good and he was playing checking role. ZAdina played with Jakub Vrana in the Czech Republic. Derek Lalonde is the new head coach of the Detroit Red Wings.

Filip Zadina is a new player for Detroit. He has some good skills but has lost some confidence in his game. New coach Lalonde will help him improve his skills. ZAdina and Vrana could play together again. The Red Wings added some new depth players this summer. They could be a good combination for Zadrina. If he plays with Vrsalje, he could also play with Dominik Kubalik, Joe Veleno, or Robby Fabbri. The team has a lot of depth. It's a gamble on the process. For Zrane, playing on third line is not the end of the world.
