Devils vs Rangers NHL Prediction, Odds, & Picks for March 11

Today’s Devils vs Rangers prediction and best NHL bets are brought to you by BetOnline. BetOnline is a market leader in sports betting, offering various options from the NHL to the NBA and everything in between.

It’s a quiet night around the NHL with only four games scheduled for Monday, March 11. A Metropolitan Division rivalry is at the center of one tilt when the New York Rangers (41-18-4) host the New Jersey Devils (31-29-4) at 7 p.m. ET.

The Devils continue to trend in the wrong direction, falling 4-2 to the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Rangers bounced back from back-to-back losses with a 4-0 win against the St. Louis Blues over the weekend as Igor Shesterkin turned aside all 26 shots he faced.

When it comes to making the playoffs, the Rangers are essentially locks considering that they’re BetOnline’s -180 favorite to win the Metropolitan Division. On the flip side, the sportsbook favors the Devils to miss the postseason at -1200 odds.

Devils vs Rangers NHL Prediction & Pick (3/11): NYR Continues to Own NJ

Tonight marks the third Devils-Rangers clash of the 2023-24 NHL season and the first time the rivals are meeting at Madison Square Garden. The foes already collided twice at Prudential Center, resulting in a 5-3 victory for the Rangers on Nov. 18 before they picked up a 5-1 win on Feb. 22.

It’s hard to imagine the Devils reversing that trend given their recent performances. With the loss to Carolina, New Jersey has now lost five of its last seven games as well as seven of its previous 10. Travis Green’s team is struggling to keep the puck out of its net, allowing four goals seven times over the last 10 games.

Unfortunately for the Devils, the Rangers know how to score. The Rangers are tied for ninth when it comes to goals per game and also rank fifth in the NHL with a 25.9% power-play percentage.

New York has a deep lineup that features five players with 18 or more goals, including Artemi Panarin, who leads his teammates with 35.

Devils vs Rangers prediction and best NHL betsThe Rangers’ attack is led by the likes of Artemi Panarin (left) and Mika Zibanejad (right).

Much to the Devils’ dismay, playing on the road isn’t going to do them any favors. They’ve dropped six of their last eight away games, which includes being outscored 9-4 by the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings in their two latest road tilts.

On the other side, the Rangers consistently defend home ice, winning seven of their last eight outings at Madison Square Garden. Not only did they outscore those foes by an average of 1.9 goals per game, but they also went 7-for-27 (25.9%) on the PP during that run.

Assuming that Shesterkin continues to stand on his head, the Rangers have a great chance to win. The veteran netminder has been stellar lately, going 8-1-1 with a 1.80 goals-against average, .948 save percentage, and two shutouts in his last 10 starts.

The Devils are likely starting Kaapo Kahkonen, who was acquired from the San Jose Sharks at the trade deadline for Vitek Vanecek and a 2025 seventh-rounder. Kahkonen hasn’t played all that well this season, owning a 6-20-3 record, 3.81 GAA, and .895 SV% through 31 games.

Rangers vs Devils predictionWill Igor Shesterkin lead the Rangers to another victory?

After how this season’s first two meetings went, I expect the Rangers to win tonight. The Devils are struggling to win games lately — especially on the road — and I don’t see them beating the Rangers, who’ve been near-unstoppable at home over the last few weeks.

With that in mind, let’s go with the Rangers covering the 1.5-goal puck line. Their last two wins against the Devils both came by multiple goals. Assuming that Shesterkin brings forth another solid effort, I see New York winning by a decent margin again.

Devils vs Rangers Prediction: NYR wins

Best Devils vs Rangers NHL Bet: NYR -1.5 (+165)

Best Devils vs RangersNHL Player Prop (3/11)

You can’t go wrong with backing Artemi Panarin to record 2+ points as the top Devils vs. Rangers player prop tonight.

Panarin has been one of the league’s best players throughout the campaign, ranking fifth with 87 points through 63 games. He’s finished with multiple points 26 times thus far, which includes six occurrences in his last 10 games alone — a span where he’s racked up 19 total points.

Panarin has also done some damage to the Devils, recording at least two points in each of the first two meetings this season. Considering how New Jersey is struggling to keep the puck out of its net, I expect Panarin to be all over the scoresheet.

Best Devils vs Rangers Prop Bet: Artemi Panarin to Record 2+ Points (+136)
