Is the Denver Broncos’ Turnaround for Real?

The Denver Broncos are hot. They’ve won back to back games, beating the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs to crawl back into relevancy this season. One more win and they enter the playoff race, even if it’s on the fringes.

So, it’s time to ask whether or not this is a real turnaround or a flash in the pan.

Let’s start with the Broncos’ defense that held the Chiefs to just nine points in Week 9. It’s easy to say, “Well, Patrick Mahomes had the flu,” but look back at their first meeting.

The Broncos, fresh off allowing the New York Jets to score 31, allowed just 19 to the Chiefs. Against the Packers, they gave up just 17 points, making it three straight weeks under 20 points.

The Broncos defense hasn’t given up more than 22 points since their Week 4 comeback victory against the Chicago Bears. The Jets put up nine defensive points in their victory.

However, while the defense has improved, the offense hasn’t. Sean Peyton’s bunch scored more than 20 points on offense just four times this season. This past week was the first time doing so since their loss to the Jets.

They’re still 27th in passing yards per game, despite the supposed comeback of Russell Wilson. Not to mention they have the fourth most lost fumbles in the NFL this season.

The Broncos are clearly a much-improved team right now. They’re not the massive disappointment they appeared to be after starting the season 1-5.

Even with this current two-game win streak, putting them back on track to compete for a playoff spot, it’s much easier to see them picking in the top 10 than it is fighting for an above .500 finish.

Bills vs. Broncos Odds at DraftKings Sportsbook

In spite of the Buffalo Bills‘ recent struggles, they’re still considered by many to be a Super Bowl contender, thanks to an electric offense led by Josh Allen. Is that enough to carry them against a surging Broncos team on Monday night?

The Bills are 7-point favorites in this one. They’re given -325 odds to win the game outright. Meanwhile, the Broncos are given +260 odds to win the game.

If you’re interested in the point total, this one is a doozy. DraftKings Sportsbook has the over/under set at 46.5 points. It’s the third-highest mark of the week, and it’s hard to blame them when the Broncos field the NFL’s worst defense, and the Bills defense is among the most injured in the league.
