Eydon broke a maiden in the Listed Feilden Stakes.

Eydon won the Listed Feilden Stakes at Newmarket. Trainer Roger Varian was completing a double after Tajalla justified 11-8 favouritism in the 5f novice Stake under Andrea Atzeni. Tajalla is now 14-1 for the Group 2 Norfolk Stages at Royal Ascot by Paddy Power. i

Frances Crowley couldn't present the prize for the inaugural running of the mile handicap named in her late husband Pat Smullen's name a year ago. She was able to come this year as she couldn’t travel a last year due to Covid restrictions. The race was again sponsored by Smellen”s friends, Ted and Sue Durcan. Coase won the second running.

Out From Under won the Alex Scott Maiden Stakes. Jockeys wore black armbands as a mark of respect for Julie Cecil. Luca Cumani was assistant to Henry and Julie between 1972 and 1975. Out From Up was unsold at the sales in 2020 and he's in a partnership with Peter Brant. He's out of Koora, whose two-year-old sold to Coolmore last year and has just been named Klondike. Richard Kingscote steered him home from Wodeton.
