QIPCO 2000 Guineas: Tom Bull's runner-by-runner guide

Tom Bull gives his verdict on the QIPCO 2000 Guineas. He predicts the 1-2-3 for the first Classic of the season.

The QIPCO 2000 Guineas takes place on Saturday at 3.40pm. Charlie Appleby's Godolphin team is strong, with Native Trail and Coroebus standing tall above the rest. Aidan O'Brien's team relies on Vertem Futurity winner Luxembourg and hardy galloper Point Lonsdale. Perfect Power is the best of the bunch.

Native Trail won the Craven Guineas. Native Trail is the top-rated colt in the race. He is likely to prove hard to beat. He won last year's Cravent.

Native Trail is unbeaten and trained by Charlie Appleby. Goldophin's second string won the Autumn Stakes last season. Native Trail has not had a prep run and took a trundle on the Rowley Mile as a pipe-opener.

Aidan O'Brien's horse is Luxembourg. Aidan O’Brien has sent horses to Newmarket before. Luxembourger won the Beresford Stakes last season.

Perfect Power is a promising colt who won the Greenham at Newbury. He's looked very pacey over 5, 6 and 7 furlongs but hasn't run over a mile yet. Trainer Richard Fahey is concerned his reluctance to settle on the way to post could find him out.

Point Londale is the favourite for the National Stakes. He was beaten by Native Trail in last year's National. The son of Australia is likely to benefit from the extra furlong.

Dubawi Legend is a three-year-old horse trained by Hugo Palmer. DubawiLegend has won the Dewhurst Stakes. He is going to race in the QIPCO 2000 Guineas.

William Knight's colt Checkandchallenge won the All-Weather Finals Day at Newcastle. The colter has never raced on turf or in Group company before.

Eydon is an outsider for the QIPCO 2000 Guineas. He won the Feilden Stakes at 22-1.

Jason Hart is the favourite to win the Royal Prix. Coroebus finished second in the last Royal Lodge. He hasn't been seen since finishing last behind Luxembourg in Vertem Futurity Trophy.

Light Infantry won on debut and followed up with a win in the Group 3 Horris Hill. He is taking on a different calibre of rivals in this race.

BOUNDLESS OCEAN is the only horse in the QIPCO 2000 Guineas rated below 100. He is trained by Jim Bolger. Kevin Manning is a jockey.

LUSAIL is a sprinter who scored in the Gimcrack at York last year. He had no answers to Perfect Power in Greenham.

BERKSHIRE SHADOW is trained by Andrew Balding and ridden by Jason Watson. He won the Coventry Stakes and finished second in the Vintage Stake last season.

Tacib Bay is an outsider with a flashy pedigree. He was beaten by New Science in the Free Handicap.

The Wizard of Eye is trained by Stan Moore and ridden by John Egan.

NATIVE TRAIL won the Craven. Coroebus gives Charlie Appleby a very strong hand. Luxembourg will be staying on stronger than anything. Eydon is a lively outsider and could be a springer for the placings.
