Eddie Jones sacked just nine months out from the World Cup

Eddie Jones was sacked as England's coach earlier this month. The decision was made just nine months before the Rugby World Cup in France. Steve Borthwick is the favourite to take over the England coaching role. England finished fifth in the 2021 Six Nations. They finished third in this year's Six nations behind Ireland and France, and they lost their first test in Perth 30-28. England had a tour of Australia in summer. It was during this tour that rumours started to swirl that Jones had lost the dressing room. There are Covid-19 restrictions during the period of the World cup.
