Appointing Wayne Rooney as manager at the expense of John Eustance was not a good decision, but City may be lifted by picking up their first win of the season.

Blackburn’s home form hasn’t been the best but they have won five of seven and they’ll surely see this as a must-win game.

Sheffield Wednesday will be relishing the opportunity to spring a surprise but they’ve been absolutely shambolic and it’s hard to see what can keep them up.

Southampton vs Bristol City

This isn’t an easy game to pick apart. The Saints are in very good form and there’s nothing standout about Bristol City, but they’ve pushed Leeds and Leicester all the way.

The young Robins are energetic and fearless in their approach and Russell Martin’s side have yet to keep a clean sheet at home, so we fancy both teams to score.

Sunderland vs Huddersfield

This feels like proper Championship business in that the Black Cats should romp to victory, but it could be one of those cold, miserable Tuesdays where an awful team robs you blind.

The last four meetings between the sides have been short on goals and we can see Town doing their best to frustrate the hosts.

Ipswich Town vs Millwall

Last but not least, second-place Ipswich could breach the 40-point mark with a win against Millwall and you’d fancy a home win on paper.

Town have won seven of eight at home with their only slip-up a 4-3 defeat to Leeds. That’s an incredible record considering they’ve shipped 15 goals in eight. Goals it is.
