Emmet Mullins keeps his cards close to his chest in pursuit of big pots

Emmet Mullins has been training horses for eight years. He trains Noble Yeats, Louis, Hairy and Sully at his Closutton base in Co Carlow. His partnership with Paul Byrne has yielded success. He travelled to Nakayama with Blackstairmountain for Willie in 2013. The Shunter won the Cheltenham Festival. Mullin's trainer uncle is Willie. Tom, Dick and Harry were new recruits to his stables a few years ago. They have since gone on to success under official names. Their trainer has kept his feet on the ground and resisted the temptation to rapidly expand.

Emmet Mullins is a self-admitted thrill seeker. He has just returned from a skiing trip in Austria's St Anton. His trainer clients include Fujimoto Flyer, Merlin Giant, Cape Gentleman, Oriental Eagle and Zero Ten. Noble Yeats is his stable star. The next outing for Noble Yewats will be at Lingfield on Sunday. He will then take on Willie and Gordon at Cheltenham's blue riband.
