EPL Title Odds: Man City Move To 1/1 After Crystal Palace Victory

According to UK betting sites, Manchester City’s title odds have been slashed to 1/1 after their 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Pep Guardiola’s side travelled to Selhurst Park with the intention of closing the gap on Arsenal at the top of the table. The visitors were dominant throughout the opening half, with Jack Grealish coming closest to breaking the deadlock, as his jinking run just needed a finer finish.

Palace struggle to create anything of note, with the returning Wilfried Zaha showing an understandable lack of match sharpness. The Citizens came close yet again, as Erling Haaland missed the target from point-blank range, failing to make it 28 Premier League goals.

The scoreline was even at the break and the blue side of Manchester came out looking to take the lead quickly, however Palace were resolute with their defending. Until the 78th minute, Michael Olise tripped Bernardo Silva in the box and Haaland made it 28 league goals with an emphatic penalty.

Patrick Vieria’s side had a late push to find an equaliser but their persistence was not enough to punish City and the visitors took all three points, cutting Arsenal’s lead at the top to two points.

Can Man City Win The Title?

Today’s result is huge for Guardiola’s men, as Selhurst Park is notoriously a difficult place to go. It may not have been pretty, but grinding out results is something that all the best sides will need to do. Arsenal travel to Fulham tomorrow afternoon, with the chance to extend their lead back to five points.

The current champions welcome Liverpool to the Etihad in their next Premier League fixture, which has historically been one of City’s most difficult battles. However, given the Reds recent form and position in the table, Guardiola may have an easier time against Jurgen Klopp.
