Premier League Title Odds: Spurs Slashed After Beating Palace

Tottenham Hotspur have seen their odds of winning the Premier League Title slash, after beating Crystal Palace 2-1. An own goal from Joel Ward and a well worked Heung-Min Son goal was enough to seal the victory, extending their lead at the top of the table to five points.

Match Report: Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs started the match strongly, maintaining possession for large periods, however Ange Postecoglou’s side were unable to create anything of note.

The hosts grew into the match and came close from a series of corners, but Joel Ward’s long range effort failed to trouble Guglielmo Vicario in the Spurs goal.

The second half started in similar fashion and Spurs finally found a break through, as James Maddison’s cross was deflected into the back of the net by Joel Ward.

Spurs then doubled their lead moments later, as substitute Brennan Johnson found the in-form Heung-Min Son and the South Korean had an open goal.

Crystal Palace failed to troubled Spurs, but the Eagles found a consolation through Jordan Ayew after a vigorous VAR check for a handball. However, the visitors held on and left Selhurst Park with all three points.

Can Spurs Win The Premier League?

The side from north London have made a superb start to this Premier League campaign, being unbeaten in their opening 10 matches (8W & 2D).

Ange Postecoglou has revolutionised life at the club despite losing star striker, Harry Kane, in the summer to Bayern Munich and many expect them to make a strong title charge.

Spurs have picked up huge results that, over recent years, have troubled the club hugely – beating Liverpool, Manchester United and drawing to Arsenal.

Their next league fixture will throw another difficult challenge their way, as they welcome Chelsea to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

A win against another ‘Top Six’ side will really reinstate the belief of winning the league title and today’s result will fill Spurs with confidence going into the match.
