Excitement swirling: No. 10 Baylor football welcomes UAlbany for season opener

Baylor football is playing its home opener against the University of Albany at 6 p.m. Saturday at McLane Stadium. The game is a homecoming for the Sugar Bowl champions. It's the first time Baylor has played an FCS team. Taye McWilliams is expected to be the starting running back. The Bears are 17-1 all-time against FSC teams. They are favorites to win the Big 12 this season. Their last defeat was against Stephen F. Austin State University in 2019. This is the game against an unranked team for first-year coach Dave Aranda. He wants to see the team have an identity in week one.
