'Family Comes First': Fernando De La Cruz Wintering At Tampa To Aide In His Brother's Recuperation

Fernando De La Cruz moved back to Tampa Bay Downs after his brother Walter's injury. Fernando won 67 races last season at Indiana Grand. He has 20 winners in his career, including two wins in the Woodford Stakes Presented by Keeneland Select. He won a pair of stakes with trainer Tim Glyshaw's 3-year-old filly, Pearl Tiara, and a maiden claiming race on the turf with Golden Rocket. His agent Mike Moran represents defending Oldsmar jockey champion Samy Camacho. The rider won two races Wednesday. It was his first time riding for agent Brad Cox.
