As far as the AFC championship game and NFC championship game are concerned, what to bet on is the key question. And, yes, there’s plenty for sports bettors to think about in this regard.

To kick off Championship Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers head east to South Philadelphia to take on the Eagles at 3 p.m. ET. From there, we have the 2022 AFC championship rematch between the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium at 6:30 p.m. ET.

With only three games remaining in the NFL season, let’s try to make the most of it as we get into our Conference Championship weekend best bets.

All odds on this page are courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook as of Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. ET.

NFL Lines: Championship Sunday

A pair of games and a pair of 2.5-point spreads is what we have for the FanDuel Promo Code bettor. Well, at least that’s what it read on Tuesday.

Once the calendar hit Wednesday, the Cincinnati Bengals -2.5 moved to just -1.

  • San Francisco 49ers +2.5 at Philadelphia Eagles
  • Cincinnati Bengals -1 at Kansas City Chiefs

The health of Patrick Mahomes is surely factoring into the equation here.

Eagles vs. 49ers Best Bet: Eagles Moneyline (-148)

The San Francisco 49ers are the hottest team in the NFL right now. They are winners of 12 straight and Brock Purdy has yet to lose a game he’s started. Their defense has been the best unit in football all season while their offense continues to roll.

Unfortunately for the 49ers, they are going up against the No. 1-seeded Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles do everything very well on defense and offense. Philadelphia had the third-best offense in the NFL in terms of yards per game and total points in the regular season.

They also gave up the second-fewest yards per game in the NFL on defense and the fewest passing yards per game.

Not only do the Eagles have an extra day to recover, but they also do not have to travel across the country. The Eagles are already the more rested team. Having a first-round bye and getting the extra day and no travel should pay dividends for the Birds this late in the season.

With Philadelphia’s home crowd advantage, I think they edge it out with an outright win in a thrilling NFC championship.

Chiefs vs. Bengals Best Bet: Under 47.5

If the San Francisco 49ers are the hottest team in the league, the Cincinnati Bengals are a close second, as they have won 10 straight games. As well as Joe Burrow and their high-flying offense have been playing, their defense has been playing just as well.

In their last eight games, the Cincinnati defense has allowed just 16.8 points per game. More specifically, in their two playoff games, they are only allowing 13 points per game.

The Chiefs are also playing very well on defense down the stretch and into the postseason.

In their last five games, the Chiefs have allowed only 18.2 points per game and 297 yards per game. Furthermore, at Arrowhead Stadium, the Chiefs’ defense gave up only 19 points per game in the regular season, which is five points less than on the road.

The biggest question entering Championship Sunday relates to the extent of Patrick Mahomes’s injury. Mahomes suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Chiefs’ win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday.

Mahomes was clearly in pain but did manage to finish the game. I am expecting him to not be as mobile as he normally is, and not make the flashy throws when he is keeping plays alive that we are so accustomed to seeing from him. This could slow down the Chiefs’ offensive attack and keep this a low-scoring game.

I like this game to stay under the total.
