Phillies vs. Braves pick
The second game of the Phillies-Braves NLDS begins tonight in Atlanta, and the Braves need a win to stave off an 0-2 series deficit.
Atlanta is favored by 1.5 runs, but the more intriguing bet to me is the over/under of eight runs. I think both pitchers are capable of good outing so I’m leaning with the under.
Philadelphia should feel very comfortable with Zack Wheeler on the mound. Wheeler was great in the opening game of the Wild Card round against the Marlins when he gave up one run and struck out eight over 6.2 innings. He’s been excellent all season with a 3.61 ERA, a 1.08 WHIP, and 212 strikeouts, so Phillies fans should be confident in his abilities tonight.
Max Fried will start for the Braves, and he’s pretty good too. Fried didn’t pitch a full season, but he appears to have hit his stride, because he has not allowed more than three earned runs in his last seven starts.
