Magic vs. Jazz pick
The Orlando Magic continue their NBA western road trip Thursday with their annual visit to Salt Lake City to play the Utah Jazz.
FanDuel Sportsbook actually has Utah at +108 on the moneyline despite being at home. This is probably because the Jazz played Wednesday and the Magic had the day off, but I don’t see the extra day of rest being that big of an advantage at this point in the season.
Utah is a young team anyway and it’s not like they exerted everything in their 133-109 win over the Grizzlies on Wednesday. The Jazz raced out to a 42-19 lead after the first quarter and subsequently led 79-46 at halftime, so all they had to do was coast in the second half.
Lauri Markkanen’s 28 minutes played were the most of any Utah player, and a lot of its bench players got significant run.
Meanwhile, Orlando hasn’t played that well on its West Coast road trip. Its only win was over the lowly Blazers and it lost twice to the L.A. teams.
Last season’s Rookie of the Year Paolo Banchero hasn’t played well to start this season, averaging 12.5 points on 37.8% from the floor.
